Transfer Rumour Liam Delap

People are trying way too hard to talk down 30 mil on a 22 year old who's just scored 12 for a relegated side that only scored 36 all season.

And who obviously has a lot of talent and potential and is sought after by pretty much every club bar Man City and Liverpool

Time will tell, obviously it's just my opinion but for 30m I'd like to see a player that has at least one stand out feature. Not seeing that with Delap.
I mean I'm not particularly a big fan of him myself, but in todays market £30m is a decent price for a striker of his calibre.

It's the wages we're offering him at 22 years old that I'm a bit more sceptical about personally. According to Romano, we've offered him a 'significant financial package' apparently..

I'm not one for stats I prefer the eye test. Just hoping that if we get him I'm wrong.
Has he not passed the eye test for you? Has looked a real threat all of the games I've watched him - runs both channels, tidy link up play, and good movement in the box. Also looks to have a healthy dose of snide, which I enjoy.

Only 22 years old so ideal profile for us

Well that answers the eternal question of whether he can do it on a wet Wednesday in Stoke.

Thought he's looked a thug and a lump without significant pace or dribbling. But I'm not a scout, and people must see something.

But that’s a variation of the offside rule when play is behind the keeper. The rule change back then to be onside was:

Attacker

Defender Defender

Keeper

he would have been class as offside with today’s rule of just 1 defender between attacker and keeper.

Before the 2 defenders, it used to be 3
This was up to 1925.
It was changed to any 2 players. So Dean's record was achieved with the current 2 player rule.

English players carry a premium, they always have. Are we just forgetting that Mateta took time to adjust and scored 6 league goals in his first two seasons?
I've never understood the premium thing, but if that's the market. Probably the best reason to look on the continent.

Only saw him in the games against us,think he was subbed off at their place and didn't show much here. He's got a decent agent though.
