I think Newcastle, Man Utd, Chelsea etc. see a low release clause and a profit in a year or two, where he'd be sitting on the bench.

Exactly mate. 30m is nothing in today’s market for someone I could easily see getting 15+ goals for us in a season.

And Beto was playing for a team that wasn't creating chances in most of the games he played while Delap played in a team that was relegated because it didn't bother to defend.

My only problem with Delap is that he doesn't have a really outstanding feature to his game. He isn't dominant in the air, doesn't have outstanding pace, doesn't dribble particularly well. Think there are players out there who offer more at better value. The problem is finding them, although other clubs manage it.

Other clubs have a respectable and well-resourced scouting and analytical department, which helps identify key targets. That is something we've lacked for so long.

The hope is that Moyes bring his astute transfer dealings with him back to the club.
