I just thought it was all beautiful. Fans were great, really enjoyed it. Cried but not as much as I thought. Loved seeing the old players.

Brought a tear to my eye seeing the generations of different players on the pitch today. The atmosphere at kick off was electric. A very moving day.

Always get a bit sad thinking of Rooney when he played for us. We should have been in a position of stature to keep hold of him, build a team round him and he would have become a legend.
Instead we were on our arse after years of mismanagement. Don’t blame him for leaving like. That team was horrific. Always think he doesn’t get enough respect from united and england fans.

Well there's a school of thought that, no matter what he won at man utd (basically everything), he never actually became the player he could have. Ferguson had him playing for the team- and rightly so, but no matter how many great games he had for them, he was shackled.

Look at how he played for Everton in his teens, once he had the ball the whole match was in his orbit. He could've been Pele mk.2.
