He was very good for us early on this season and apparently was good at holding players accountable in the dressing room. He played enough that he’ll need replacing as Coleman’s body simply can’t do it anymore.

Definitely the correct decision. No matter how much a good professional and leader he has been, he will be 40 in a couple of months and a reset and fresh start to set up a better future should not be paying about 80 grand a week to geriatrics.

I would happily have given him a further 12 months.

Coleman’s body clearly isn’t up to it, and AY could cover both full back positions.

Wish him all the best he’s been a solid servant during a difficult time, that should not be forgotten.
