I imagine they’re looking at the wider picture than simply stadium sponsorship.
It’s the flagship building in a huge development area that’s attracting overseas investment and will transform an area of the city on what is an iconic waterfront.
It gives them incredible access and opportunity to woo clients. Especially for their commercial and property arms. They could be targeting Asian property investors for example.
Also, they might not see it as a long term thing. They know by being the first to sponsor the stadium, they’ll also be recognised. Look at fact everyone calls the M&S arena the echo still. They could just see it as an aggressive marketing tactic while the area is regenerated and then pull out.
We also don’t know other access it gives them. Such as American markets via close ties with TFG

What they don't realise is they're only ruining their own experience support the football club.
The Dock is named after the Conservative Slave Trader...am pretty ok with Hill Dickinson.
Very appropriate as the Dixie is located right beside a sewage plant.

Well it’s my fault then for having a few Liverpool fans as good mates , they did jump in this to try and ridicule . It doesn’t bother me that much as you just ride with it and laugh at some Memes then they soon get bored. I’m a bit disappointed as it’s a silly name that demeans the stadium a bit. I was expecting and assumed a blue chip name such as Toyota or whatever. Like some others say I don’t think it will be anywhere near 10 mill. Anyway , won’t let it spoil the wknd !

Woke up. It's still crap, it's just not sexy or catchy, it's a genuine mouthful, which is ironic lol. If this isn't worth a lot of money and for like a 10 year period, it's going to be a bit miserable. It honestly just feels like a fake named stadium you'd see on something without Premier League licenses.

I don't give a flying it has Dick in the name, I just don't like how clunky it sounds.
As a posh boutique hotel chain name, sounds great. A name for an intimidating fortress, not so much. Dare I say it would perhaps suit a club like Arsenal.
All that said we must be getting more than a couple of million as surely we could have roped NEC in if it were only 2-3 million pa. Hopefully it's nearer the 10 million side of things but that's a lot of money for a company that size.
