Some are terrified of change. But… all being well this next 12 months will host the biggest change any of us have ever known. And it’s happening fast. Some apprehension - mixed in with all that excitement - is to be understood. Particularly given the time we’ve had over the last few years.

It’ll be great, I’m sure, but different people deal with upheaval in different ways.

Evertonians are terrified of change.

Some Blues are still under the hypnotic trance of Bill's technicolour dream coat.
This.

Look for a negative in everything.

"We want a change in ownership" get new owners "But what if"
"We need new players" Get some "FFS not him"
"Get rid of the manager this fella is taking us down" fire him "Cant believe were in talks with him"
"What are these multi billionaires doing rocking up at Everton, they are only here to make money"

Honestly if you're not excited by our future now you never will be.
We are now in a position to get ourselves back to sitting at the top table of English football, not next season or the season after but maybe in 3-4 years from now.

The new ground, new owners, and a board of professionals give us the foundations to get there.

The same is true in reverse in a lot of ways though - some fans fall into the trap of believing that everything is going to end up working out perfectly every time there's a change, even when there's very little evidence to back it up with (and sometimes plenty to the contrary). In terms of the owners, I'm cautiously optimistic. They don't seem like complete shysters which is a plus, but until they do stuff that actually proves they're going to be good I won't make a judgement either way. There's plenty to be optimistic about but talk of getting back to the top that quickly seems a little bit overly optimistic in my opinion based on what we know of the owners so far. I'd love you to be right though.

Yes, i get the negative thoughts by some, we all had our fingers burnt by Moshiri when he came in thinking thats it were going to be amazing again.
The biggest mistake from Moshiri was keeping Kenwright on as chairman but i absolutely believe that this was part of the deal, "I will sell to you but i remain as chairman" he wouldnt of sold to Moshiri without this, thats why he was bullet proof. Like ive said many times Kenwright done what was best for him not the club.

Of course this can go wrong there are no gimmies in this game but i will remain optimistic until im given reason not too.

I’m all for bringing expertise in but I cannot see the new American owners fad of bringing US sports stars to football as a huge positive.
Tom Brady at Birmingham city, some have mentioned LeBron at Liverpool, and now Jason Kidd here.
Football is biggest sport in the world, the expertise with the game exist. I’m uncertain why bringing in us sports stars is anything other than marketing, and even if it’s that I can’t see Kidd being a huge coup.

But which is better for you, being overly negative or overly positive? Overly negative guys won't be happy even if their fears never materialize while the optimistic guy will just think "next season then!".

And yeah, I do try to bring realism into it from time to time but it's much better for your mental health.

I don't really think either is better or worse to be honest. I don't think it's particularly helpful either way, much better to just be realistic and see how things pan out.

I think that in the long being optimistic is better for your mental health.
