Golf 2025 Season…….

One of the most exciting masters I’ve witnessed. I thought Jack’s win over Norman and Seve in 86 would take some beating for drama, but I think this even surpasses it. It was like being on a rollercoaster watching the play this evening. Huge congratulations to Rory for overcoming that mid round collaspe, I just wish it hadn’t been at Rose’s expense. As to make 10 birdies including a clutch one on 18 and not to win was cruel.

Yeah I wanted Rory to win so badly but I like Rose as well - what a round and hopefully he snags another major in his career

What a memorable Masters this was and possibly the best one in terms of drama in my lifetime. Tiger winning it in 2019 was a great and dramatic tournament also, but this one was about whether a golfer with pure, natural talent, could finally complete the career grand slam, having had the chances before. It was evident how much it meant to Rory (obviously), but also to other golfers close to him, Fleetwood stuck around to congratulate after the play off, yet he was done 2 hours prior, Lowry likewise. In a way, it was a shame that he had to beat Justin Rose to win the green jacket, but I wouldn't have been mad if Rose won it either. After all he shot an impressive 66 including 10 birdies today, doff cap worthy, to say the least.

Anyway, massive win for those of us who want golf to remain a somewhat out of touch Tory sport instead of a filthy PIF money laundering fascist sport. LIV would have been given so much credibility if one of that lot won this tournament. The Masters is the only event with that much cachet.
I was considering today whether the majors will be in 20 years what they are today

The Masters is going to be the biggest golf tournament in the world until the end of sports. I think the US Open is pretty secure with its reputation as the hardest test in golf. And I think The Open will be OK because of the tradition and history.

On the other hand, the PGA Championship is less important than the Tour Championship now, and probably The Players Championship too. It’s only a major because people say it is.
