Trying to figure this out myselfWhat on earth has gone on in here.
Your first reaction wasn’t to cheer a 90+3 minute winning goal away at a Top 3 side? What do you watch football for, mate? Do you celebrate more when you see a line up you prefer an hour and a quarter before the game? McNeil has just come back from a lengthy injury so was never a starter, we’ve got 8 games left with Broja so in what other context could we take a risk-free look at him other than a game in which we are safe? Harrison is a very poor footballer but played well yesterday so the manager would argue he vindicated his decision but, even then, Moyes was effusive in his praise of Alcaraz when he come on. Christ, I thought I was miserable but if you can’t find joy in a moment like that yesterday, you’d be best off finding something else to do of a Saturday.Moyes' tactics were spot on. That and perhaps Forest had an off-day (Elanga a sub and Wood + Murillo poor) with pressure or tiredness?
Your last sentence...are you inferring that this:
Harrison....Doucoure...Ndiaye...
...................Broja
Is superior to;
McNeil......Alcaraz....Ndiaye
...................Beto
Because for me, there is no way Moyes either went with the best players nor did he have an eye on next season.
I have no complaints on points, tactics or suchlike but he should be using our better players and trying to see if partnerships gel in these 'meaningless' games.
Everyone wants to win every match.
But lets be honest here -- its short term thinking to see Broja, Doucoure and Harrison playing. They arent the better players, they dont 'deserve' a starting place and they arent going to bring the club success.
When that Doucoure goal went in my first reaction wasnt to cheer. I just sat back and thought Moyes will now continue to favour Doucoure, Harrison and Broja.
Big picture...they shouldnt be playing.

Mate you said you didn’t celebrate a 94th minute winner. Why do you watch football?
The seasons not over, we’re in April. The majority of football teams fans can’t achieve anything - do we all stop watching in March?
You’ve contradicted yourself, ‘league position and build something with existing players on our books’ - I’d argue that’s exactly what he’s doing. Broja doesn’t play yesterday otherwise. Patterson last week as well, and Tim. What you mean is your Argentinian loanee isn’t getting enough games so you didn’t celebrate a last gasp winner.
There’s still plenty of points to play for, we could catch Bournemouth and Brentford, he’s putting in good foundations for how we will set up next season and that will allow us to recruit coherently.
You seem pretty on edge recently as well, hope everything is alright - genuinely think if you can’t celebrate a 94th minute winner for your team then you’ve lost sight of why you followed football in the first place. It’s not serving its purpose for you if you only get excited about seeing new players come through.
Trying to figure this out myselfsomeone attempting to pipe down others for celebrating a 94th minute winner away at 3rd in the league….

"just because Moyes is the manager"
Wtf is this? Ive given Moyes a lot of praise!
Perhaps you should have a little lie down and think about why people have different viewpoints to you?
As ive repeatedly said - Moyes has done very well with results. But he should be using players that can take the club forward next season.
The season is dead. Its over. He's saved the club (that never gets relegated) from relegation.
The only thing to play for is league position and to try and build something from existing players on our books -- hes not doing this.
When a filthy little arselicker claims to be an "Evertonian" and claiming that celebrating a 94th minute winner makes them a better "Evertonian" than someone else...
...it says a heck of a lot about them.
Lost me? We setup brilliantly, but with players who shouldnt be at the club.
Can celebrate a meaningless 3pts OR look at it for what it is -- a frightening sign that Doucoure, Harrison and perhaps Broja will be staying at the club.
As others posted, YOU DIDNT WATCH THE GAME.
Praising Moyes for his terrible team selection.
The team only clicking into gear after Alcaraz (who you dont seem to rate) and Beto (who you dont rate) got onto the pitch.
But praising Doucoure...over and over after 93mins of embarassment -- then spouting how he was man of the match.
Yet claiming youre a better Evertonian than others because you cheered a meaningless goal.
You keep relaying your stories about playing football and living in a road of Everton footballers...football for dummies eh.
Youre more of a Moyes arselicker than anyone on here.

Stop trying to dig strangers out on the internet. Get some help.
--Moyes needs to improve his team selections. Extremely concerning.
Read them back Zat, why did you get into watching football?
Were you growing up thinking ‘wow I hope we play players who will play next season’ or did you want Everton to win games of football?
I’d say Moyes is having a good look at players who he may want to include next season whilst also figuring out ways to win games in a season where we could still finish 2/3 places higher than we are. That’s worth a lot of money for a team that needs to rebuild.
You’re arguing essentially that we shouldn’t celebrate a 94th winner because it’s concerning which players were on the pitch. You’re getting quite prickly about it too, as is your forté.
Sorry, “stranger”. I was under the mistaken impression that this was a discussion forum so was just, you know, engaging in the discussion. And, yes, apologies also for “cheering away” that we have been saved from relegation. I should have been sat there over the last few weeks with my arms crossed, fuming that the manager hasn’t played the exact 11 I want. And as for “never” getting relegated (apart from the times we’ve been relegated) we should have just stuck with Dyche. Don’t know what we were all worried about. I would be seriously concerned if Harrison, Broja, Doucoure were all starting on the opening day next season. But they won’t be. So maybe just enjoy moments like yesterday for what they are. We dominated the game, won and the manager was vindicated in the team he picked.Everton are 14th
11th - 17th is where the team finishes.
You're putting words in my mouth that i havent said.
Cheer away that Sir David of Moyes has saved Everton (a team that 'never' gets relegated) from relegation.
Perhaps he may want to actually use players that might benefit the club next season.
I'm a stranger on the internet.
Pretty sure we had over 2500 away fans at the city ground yesterday.Everton will finish 11-17th.
There is NOTHING to play for.
I am a stranger on the internet that you're trying to guess the thoughts of
As I have constantly repeated, Moyes should be playing those who will be able to make a positive impact next season.
This is not Harrison or Broja. As for Doucoure hes starting ahead of superior players.
Pretty obvious that my point is a logical one.
