Last Film You Watched

Just watched novocaine and really enjoyed it

Was suprised how much I liked it tbh. Was expecting it to be a gimmicky film about a guy who can’t feel pain but it was more than just that it had a decent story and Jack quaid’s acting was really good and the humour was decent as well

7.5/10 for me

I agree with your score.

Good mindless fun, with lots of nods to Home Alone, but for adults .

How the he’ll it got a 15 cert is a bit of a strange one, as the levels of violence are insane, even if a lot of it is there for the laughs.

Minecraft Movie - took the kids as we all play minecraft together, and the kids are well in to it. There is no real plot to the film, which is what lets it down the most. It's slow for the first 15 minutes but when they get in to the minecraft world it's not a bad watch it you like minecraft. It's quite good how they make the world and crafting etc. Quite a few in-jokes which I got a few of, but my kids were explaining to me afterwards. It's defo a kids film, if you're not in to minecraft and you're above the age of 10, chances are you won't enjoy it. Also why is there singing in it? It just doesn't fit with the film either.

I feel like I have to watch the Minecraft movie to see what the hype is all about even though it’s going to be a crap film

I just don’t know whether I will get all the Minecraft references as I’ve never played the game.
I just hope a goat simulator movie isn't planned. Although our Welsh friends on here may be happy, but it may be different than they expect.

Bring Them Down

Started out really good. Like an Irish version of As Bestas.

But then they do some flip of the perspective that I think was pointless and it meant more bad acting and bad accents by Barry Keoghan. I don’t get how he can’t do a normal Irish accent. He’s bloody Irish! It changes mid sentence sometimes

Nosferatu

I enjoyed it for the most part. Visually it looks great & Willem Dafoe is at his campy best in this. He really suits the roles where he can ham it up a fair bit.

I do think Robert Eggers is better with a limited budget though. The VVitch and The Lighthouse were lightyears better then this or Northman (Which I thought was a bit crap) while it's got that trademark folky weirdness you'd expect, it's perhaps a bit too polished?

Not bad overall though. I liked the slow pacing, which may be what is putting a lot of people off.
