The "Wimbledon game" years ago people were bunking in left, right and centre all around the ground,
Jumping over turnstiles, double clicking, bribing stewards,
My brother had a ticket for the main stand, slipped the guy on the gate a few quid and lifted my then young son over the turnstile.
I fully expect the same thing to happen this time.
I was in the queue outside with my lad, it was chaos, about 5 different queues for each turnstile.
Police horses standing on everyone, kids getting crushed and absolute knobheads with no concern for anyone but themselves doing what they do best.
It was like Colditz backwards that day.

The club asked for the game to be the week before the end of the season, so that it could be an event widely covered by the media and at the forefront of people's minds, rather than just happening at the same time as all the other games and being lost in the general last day of the season drama. It's not that they didn't want it at a weekend, just that they didn't want it to be one of 10 games happening at the same time and so going under the radar. Some of our fans really want it to go under the radar though for some reason.

oh
i’m with you mate

Could just have it the same day at the cup final as a once off maybe? Have it at 8pm on the Saturday. There's been a couple of PL fixtures at that time on a Saturday this season and if the cup final is on at 3pm it be well over by then

Think they have to think of southampton fans if there is any going the game is a late time ino to have think 430 start then cqn go on later after the game forbus everton fans say goodbye to goodion imo

They won't think of us or even your fans when making the decision ultimately. TV is king unfortunately.

I would prefer Sunday 7pm to Monday night.

is anyone else completely non plussed by the idea of a night game?

the derby was THE last night game

its not going to be topped

this should be an all day carnival in the sun (hopefully)

if the standard ko time that day is 3pm, then 5.30 would make sense as a ko time

maybe even 6 or 6.30 to add more build up on tv if thats what sky/fans at home/the club want

but i will definitely take 7pm sunday over monday night

not great for the saints fans making their final trip

they really need to sort it either way

If it's 7pm as rumoured then you kind of get the best of both worlds, still got all day to enjoy the build up and the game will kick off in sunshine (hopefully) then become a night game as the sun goes down. Poetic I guess if the final game sees the sun literally set on the old place.
