2024/25 James Tarkowski

Apparently Tuchel likes him and he could be in line for a call up to the England squad.
I think he`s making mistakes in games, some that he gets away with, but some that have been costing us goals. Thought he was at fault for the Palace goal recently when he decided to run out to head a ball clear that O`Brien was in a position to clear, and he was at fault for Spurs first goal at the start of our good recent run. A few times he`s misjudged the flight of the ball and jumped for header and got nowhere near it. Some of those misjudgments get forgotten about if they don`t result in a goal or when he`s made some good important challenges, but there`s times where I get a bit nervous with him especially around the penalty area in case he decides to make a rash decision that will cost us.

Maybe I'm reading into this a little too much, but it's interesting that Tarkowski is the player that they've asked to help promote this event rather than Coleman. A passing of the torch, perhaps? It could be a slight hint that the captaincy may be changing hands next sesson, which raises further questions about Coleman's future and Tarkowski's role in the squad.
He's captain at the minute and sounds like Coleman might be off. Just going by the way Moyes said the other day that he might have other plans or something

I've been unsure for some time, but it just seems as though Coleman is too injury prone for our current squad. Tarkowski is Coleman's understudy waiting in the wings, in much the same way Coleman was to Jagielka.
