I'm hoping it was just that, but my mate's 2 lads had run in it, been home, got changed and still beat us to the ground from South Liverpool. I couldn't see any remnants of it from the bus either.
At the first event, we got the bus a bit earlier (in evening rush hr).... and it took only a few mins to get to BMD. This time it was snails pace along the whole strand and the main problem appeared to be the junction with Great Howard St. Buses need a segregated lane and priority at junctions. It's a shame that the bus can't use the dock road for at least the initial stretch. If the Gliders or trackless trams ever get off the drawing-board, this route could be a game-changer. It could also serve the ten streets/Liverpool-waters area year round too.

I wasn't expecting a second go, but got notification over a week ago and ended up with 4 (for 4 season ticket holders), and a choice of where to go, so went for the opposite end. We knew that our turnstiles were in the North west corner and the stewards at the gate sent us on the anti-clockwise route. Only to find we couldn't go that way when we got to pumphouse corner. We were already late, so could've done without that added delay.... and the same steward had already confiscated a large bag of peanuts from my wife's bag haha.

No idea of cost tbh, but have travelled on quite a few worldwide and they offer great performance. One was orginally mentioned for the Liverpool Waters scheme over 15yrs ago. It could be a modern version of the "overhead railway" linking to the Northern Line at Sandhills or Vauxhall, serving all the new/existing waterfront developments to as far as say, the new Baltic station. At the same time taking some pressure off Central station. A few examples shown in this:

The Gliders would be a far cheaper and much more flexible solution.... but would really need to have a fully segregated route to be effective. Of course a monorail has that automatically.

There is a lot of exposed concrete around the stadium and once you notice it you can't unnotice it ! Hopefully it will be painted or covered in banners

At the test events most of the fans went for a walk around the stadium so the concourses were packed. In time things will settle down and fans will stay at their seats or go to the nearest serving area. I don't think it will be a problem

Its an amazing stadium. The views are incredible and you can tell that it'll have an unbelievable atmosphere. However, something has got to be done about ensuring its easier to get away at the end of the match because hardly anyone is going to just go along with the stop and go signs 99% of the time in normal circumstances and absolutely nobody will go along with it after a 3-0 loss!
