As much as this is “ rock lite “ it’s actually a really good and quite sinister song, which for some reason no one seemed to pick up on at the time.

Not a one hit wonder, at one point he was quite ahit machine in america, something like his first five releases went nr 1.. which may have been a record at the time

When you take into account the UK charts only then yes Alphaville had one top 10 record but they had a number of hits throughout the continent
The whole concept of one hit wonders has various interpretations, for me the true expression of a one hit wonder is a artist/group who have one charting song [say in the top 10] and never appear on the music charts again [apart from maybe the lower reaches of] and essentially disappear into obscurity

Toni Basil and Micky would be a good example
