A little surprising after his recent interview.

I hope they've done their review and are clear about who they want and in what role.

It's fine for Moyes to be leading recruitment in the summer but you do have to have some continuity into the future and joined up thinking at an overall level which won't be Moyes' responsibility.

TFG handling of the DOF position at Roma hasn't been particularly impressive and it would not come as a shock if a group DOF will be appointed and oversee recruitment and other tasks at a high level for both clubs.
I was thinking at the time that interview was him either pitching to be kept on or part of his exit strategy. I agree I'd want there to be a proper recruitment model in place and not just Moyes alone driving it. There are also all the other things a DOF does away from recruitment.

If he's leaving in the summer, who is going to be doing the planning for the summer? And if it's not him, why keep him around until the summer?

This seems like a decision that will be highly disruptive and an unnecessary binning of a guy who has done a very good job. Slightly alarmed by it.
If the model is potentially being changed It might not matter, since a different role might be created and recruited for. His contract isn’t up till the summer anyway, might just be involved in the general administration till then.

I bet it'll be Moyes. Wouldn’t be surprised if they brought back Dave Harrison to help him out.

Really need to be progressive, not regressive with this.
There's nothing wrong with the players Moyes recruits. He's much better at finding talent at the right price than any of the DOFs we've had since he left in 2012.
