….a proper football man who knows the game inside out. He’ll know people in the game, he’ll know what is required in the post and individuals he thinks are highly capable for this role. Pretty obvious really ;)
Clubs simply don't work like that and you know this. The manager is fairly low down in the food chain and certainly does not call the shots on positions above him, why you would think he does is nothing short of bizarre tbh.

I'm concerned about a new clique emerging at Everton.

Jobs for there Moyes 2.0

This is a club that's moved on from the dark days when Moyes was first in the hot seat.

We dont have a rickety old stadium from next season and we dont have a pauper in the owner's chair anymore who's happy to allow a dynasty of mediocrity to be set up for years.

The days of a manager coming into this club to rule the roost - sitting on his little security blanket made of yes men - have surely come to an end.

In those circumstances I find it hard to believe someone like Weir can be shoe-horned in - a man without any experience as a DoF (the feller offers pastoral care to Brighton academy players).

If he is then it'll mean this club is still showing signs of being stuck in the stone age as far as it's football practices are concerned.

You keep saying Weir offers pastoral care to the young players, thats the job he had 6 years ago, he no longer has that role, his current role is Technical director.

"Weir has been at Brighton for six years. The 54-year-old's first job was heading up their loan department before he replaced Dan Ashworth as technical director three years ago."

And how is TFG hiring a somebody Moyes had as a player 20 years ago jobs for the boys?

Anyway, im reading hes turned us down, again.

Top class source.

….or it just means they’re bringing somebody in that Moyes respects and can work with. A manager/DoF on the same page. For all we know, he might be the right man for the job, the person the owners wanted regardless of his connection to the club and manager.

I’d be chuffed if he came in, it’d suggest they’ve at least seen through the existing DoF ;)

He's staying put at Brighton anyway.

Glorified can lad. Everton is too huge for him.

He's not coming.

That's the good news.

Now we can see what the Yanks have in mind rather than Moyes wanting to get one of the Tartan mafia in.

Doesnt really matter, Moyes is at the wheel.
I wont cry my eyes out at that outcome tbh...unlike you when you dont get your own way on managers.

Moyes for another season to settle us into the new stadium then punt him back to Scotland and retirement when we get a cracking new manager with loads of headroom.

It's not really that obvious, football clubs at that level are huge complicated organisations, pretty sure most fans still think the DoF is a scout

I was joking you know, Matt Hughes is a terrible source.

I have to ask you what you want Weir in for.

Failed manager.
Taken jobs off contacts in coaching ever since then.

Please detail his credentials if you rate him so much....apart from being Moyes's mate.

I didnt want Moyes, I wanted the boy Foncesca.

You know me and fancy named forens.

But at least you can see the benefit of Moyes, short term and you aint asking for his head after 6months any more.

I dont have anything to support Weir, I just know hes not the cone layer you say he is.

I would give KT a bash at the Summer window personally.

The CEO is the bigger appointment for me.
