Depends if he's any good! That said Doucoure has set a pretty low bar this season!

….Doucoure has never been a conventional no10, it’s not just this season he’s been awful in possession but he’s done as much as anybody to keep us in this league. Did I read that we’ve never lost a game he’s scored in and we got 20 points from games when he scored last season?

I love his reaction when we score, he never shirks or hides, playing appears to matter to him but it’ll be good when we can win games without him.

Seems a confident lad, and they’re talking like the option is almost a forgone conclusion.

Still a little puzzled why he seems to have been moved around so much at only (just) 22 though.

Decent deal for the club. If we can get mathematically safe asap then we can give him 4 or 5 starts, if he's any good pay the £15 million, if not don't play him and send him back. Sort of deal we should have been doing for years.

I doubt he is an "automatically safe" player.

He'll be on the bench for the FA Cup match and will start against Liverpool.

Great post. I think Doucs is genuine, tries and just loose on the ball sometimes.

Glad i didn't stay up any longer - at least we got one body in. I'm a bit nonplussed that Armstrong went out on loan with no replacement - seems that could have waited.

One promising, ball playing, very young mid out for a few months. Probably with an emergency recall option. Needs game-time, so not a bad option - West Derby to Derby.

I like these modest amounts paid for potential - same with Garner, Tim, Patterson, NDiaye, OBrien, Chermiti - it won't always work out but the downside is more palatable.

He's going to get a red card though, isn't he ?

Armstrong was a kid that didn’t need replacing. The club did the right thing with Armstrong.
