Mon now lads, we know that staff costs are a bit more than just player salaries aye?
We do, but he used the word annual payroll.

He didnt say player wages.

To be pedantic.

His figures suggest we have nearly 100m surplus after costs, I just wanted to highlight thats not the case.

We employ 532 staff at the club, I think its fair to assume the first team squad takes up a huge portion of our payroll.

Well you could buy players and pay them 40/50/60k instead of 100/120/140k

That would help
You could indeed spud, our biggest issue has been excess, players just on the wage bill not doing anything, ever.

We, KT, has done very well getting that down the last few years, for sure and yes wage savings have been made, so I do expect our wage bill to show a decline at least in the last 2 periods.

Now, we have new owners and a super duper stadium that will generate tidy sums, so you would hope there will be a considerable increase in player purchasing, maybe even a higher calibre of player in a year or 2, a man can dream.

In short, wage savings have and will continue to be made in the short term, no doubt, but you would hope with an increase of revenue that will mean our player spending will increase and that may mean an increase in player/staff wages.

He’s done a decent job
I don't mate. He has done some good some bad but ultimately regardless of well documented financial constraints we have a squad that lacks certain fundamental aspects for this league. We can blame Moshiri but this fella has been here what three years? And I can name the signings of quality he has made on one hand.

That's the point really isn't it? Hard to do your best job when Mosh screwed up the finances and BK wanting to be in control of signing players as much as possible. I've no idea if he's capable of doing a good or bad job, but he was dealt crap cards on arrival.

Prime example of organizational dysfunction is Denzel Dumphries. Brands had him lined up as the next right back, yet Mosh and Bill let the red sabateur have too much power. We've never really let the DoF act as a DoF. Maybe that will change with TFG ownership. I hope so. Moves needs to spend 99% of his waking hours coaching this squad up, and building attack schemes and confidence. We really don't know if Thelwell can do the job or if he even has the power to do so.
