There have been studies in the last decade which show that women swear more than men now. (Also studies that show the opposite).

I only swear at the match, and my kids find it hilarious. They'll never hear me swear at home. The whole thing has become part of their experience to be fair.

Their mother has a right potty mouth the vast majority of the time.

It used to be the case that you wouldn't hear much swearing out and about. People were, generally, more guarded about how they said things in public. Many went to the match, though, to vent and so used a different, somewhat more vulgar, vocabulary.

Seems like we are heading for a complete reversal of that ...

What should be stopped is commentators apologizing every time the live tv coverage picks up someone letting out some colorful expressions during the game. If swearing offends you stay at home and don`t watch the match.
