Anfield uses "digital only" ticketing, but also - if you ask hard enough - offers a Stadium Access Card (with photo ID) as an alternative for anyone without a smartphone.
Given Everton's commitment to Bramley-Moore being "the most inclusive stadium in the Premier League" you'd hope they will see sense.

The T&Cs I got with my village street ticket spoke about a physical card in exceptional cases, can't remember the exact wording but seemed like it was possible if you really needed one.
No issues with this, the whole world has gone digital and it works for and is more convenient for 99% of people, the other 1% can make their case to the club for an exemption - seems fairly rational to me.

I think it's a bit out of order from the club to expect fans to stump up the cash for your season ticket right now, particularly with Christmas just gone and people not flush in January. You usually pay for it in April.
