New Everton Stadium

I thought this as well

If this was the case, all they had to do was mark them as unavailable and then I could have gone straight for the most suitable available seats instead of wasting time and missing out on those as well

I have no issue with a staff purchase period by the way, no issue at all. It's the ticketmaster system I have an issue with. There is simply no excuse for these issues. They have no surge beyond expectations to deal with, they have no supply issue, they have a known maximum of purchases for known date, they even know names and demographics of every single person that was going to attempt a ticket purchase. It will only ever have been less than their expected maximum due to groupings and tenure capacities. It is simply a gross mismanagement of a system that in the years they have employed it, and the years they have had to prepare, should simply have not happened. It is quite frankly an absolute disgrace. This is not a one off, 'be there if you can' purchase like Oasis, or other such chumps where 'best available seat' will do. These are potentially lifelong decisions in many cases and they should be treated with a respect that belies this fact.

You may have noticed, but I am absolutely fuming.

Sounds like the experience buying Oasis tickets. As there are so many people on at the same time, it's almost impossible to get what you want. By the time you click checkout someone has already done that. What's even more frustrating is they may have relinquished those seats afterwards, so you see them pop up as available again, but the same thing happens and so on.

Can you sit on somebody's knee?

Staff were able to purchase 2 tkts on friday and even then they had issues. Reckon you are correct with the overlapping early on. I went to tkt office and was about 10th in the queue. Thought that would be fine cos their are 6 windows but only 3 opened which eventually went to 4. This meant i got seen at 10.15. I had also been trying online since 10am with no joy. Wanted front row ( of course ) of block 220 as near as poss to the corperate. Ended up 10 rows back and 30 seats away. Gutted isnt the word especially when your tenure is 44 years! Safe to say i m well and truly pizzed off!
So EFC staff could purchase 2 x tickets on Friday, am I hearing this correctly?

Thought you wanted a goal end view, similar to what you have now at the Park End?

And by the way 001 is in the West Stand. You just have to face it Matty you ain't ever going to find your seat. :D

The technology exists to do this in a much better way.

They should be 'held' and made unavailable the second someone adds them to their basket, and released if they don't complete checkout in 10 minutes or whatever. The array of seats anyone is looking at should be updated in real time as people add seats, it shouldn't require a refresh with current technology.

How many Evertonians were eligible this morning? 10,000? That's several orders of magnitude fewer than with the biggest gigs, like Oasis.

The issue was seemingly that they had me, and others, registered as part of a staff purchase process, which limited me to purchasing staff+1, where I was in for two tickets, which would have effectively meant staff+2. At least that's how I understand it. I had selected my seats, and it was only when saying adult and OAP etc that it's stopped me progressing, on several occcasions. It is then that I got this after a number of attempts to progress, and several changes of seat selection.

It may be that people who arrived after 10:01 weren't in that pool, but those before it were, who knows. It's still a massive error, but I have to say, I don't blame this on the club at all, nor do I have an issue with staff purchases. Ticketmaster should be doing better.

Expect it was much much less tbh, and even then, there's quite a lot of those eligible who are actually waiting for friends or family to become available.

I wouldn't be surprised if less than 3000 were actually sold today.

You still could have had people log on who were eligible, who had no intention to buy today.

I probably would have given the choice, to see what was free and how it works.
