2.5 years is still sticking in my throat a bit.

I'll absolutely accept that he's probably a sensible appointment in the short term as we are in a worse predicament than I expected us to be in this season and we do need someone to steady the ship. Easy to forget, but that's actually the same situation Moyes came in here on 20 odd years ago.

There's maybe an argument that he's a relatively safe pair of hands to rebuild a bit as well, but I was really hoping for something a bit more progressive this summer.

Still, have seen some suggestions that summer 26 rather than this summer is the one where the purse strings can be opened a bit more, so maybe that factors into the Moyes appointment as well.

He makes sense, I admit that somewhat begrudgingly. The main thing I think I have against it now is that it's an appointment which divides the fan base and we could do with some unity.

Has a solid 12 year legacy at the club. It was something to be revered then. Its become legendary in the context of the 12 years after he left... so he's hardly going to let the friedkins take him for some blow in mug with like a year contract. Never going to happen.
