2024/25 David Moyes

Some people genuinely think Ancelotti was a better Everton manager than Moyes. That's the level of illogical grudge bearing we have here.
There not really many metrics to measure them on than points per game average, albeit even that’s heavily skewed due to limited number of games but even so, Moyes averaged 1.54 points per game for Everton. Among the long list of his successors, only Roberto Martínez (1.56 ppg) and Carlo Ancelotti (1.6 ppg) had a better record than Moyes.
So other than that, what makes you think Moyes was better than Ancellotti?
Personally, Ancelotti is a league above Moyes as a manager, and it wouldn’t matter what team or league you put them in charge of.

It's positive that there's been no further information or media from the club. Suggests they are straight down to business and that will all come later, once everything is in place.
Actually, I'm hearing that Dan Dare is flying Moyes in on his spitfire on Wednesday, dropping him over Goodison in a parachute, and landing him between blue-clad pom-pom dancers Kevin Nolan, "Stubbsy", Tony Bellew, and Phil Neville. A hologram of Bill Kenwright smiling benevolently from the jumbotron will be projected and 39,000 people will clap like seals. We will then go on to lose 0-5 to Aston Villa.

Good times.

Keane was pleasant about him in the Echo saying he’s a great manager and he was great for him personally etc, presumably in a post match presser (headline is how the team were informed) but you’re right, other than that, there’s been very little.
Interestingly, Keane and Doucoure said the same thing.

I wonder why?

I wish him well - but I am not sure he'll survive for as long as his contract stipulates. While Kenwright had to see him through many ropey runs of form in his 11 years for lack of cash or plausible alternatives, the Friedkins don't have that constraint.

As the old Chinese curses says, "may you live in interesting good times."
If GOT had existed in 2005 a lot of people on here would’ve been demanding his head in that autumn/winter period

Yup, if I recall, we lost 5-1 to Dinamo Bucharest (at least I think we scored) and then 4-0 at WBA. Those were highlights among going out to Villarreal and a terribly slow start to the season.

The only excuse Moyes had - and it was a good one - is Kenwright never strengthened for the Villarreal match, so we were underfunded for the challenge ahead. He refused to speculate to accumulate.

Moyes went on plenty of similar runs - and then lots of good solid ones. I doubt the Friedkins would put up with similar bad runs as the lack of investment/lack of alternatives excuses will not apply from next season (if he's still with us).
