I didn't say it did have any bearing on what happens on the pitch. Being positive greatly impacts one's mental health and it far more beneficial to crying over spilt milk. Look, it's one of those things you have no control over, hence the enjoy the ride comment.

You speak of "truths", the actual truth of the matter is we have a manager renowned for stability. That is what Everton needs at the moment.

So you want people who disagree with the appointment to pretend it's all good? My mental health is just fine, it's fine to disagree with a decision, I won't lose any sleep over it.

Don't have the grudge against him that some do - I'm hoping he can get better performances out of some of our squad as he always seemed a decent coach.

I don't know if he was the right 'choice' as I don't know what 'choice' we really had - Potter or Moyes ? To be fair to the both, looks like they had the bottle to step into relegation battles that others havent.

The most important part of the clubs short term future is building the squad - can we get anybody decent in this January ?

Loppy was an absolute dreadful appointment for West Ham which is why he’s already gone . Moyes won 3 games after Christmas last season and left behind the smallest and oldest squad in the premier league. This season has just been a continuation of the rot served up by Moyes last year.
Moyes seemed to get found out after a couple of excellent seasons, playing counter-attack. Ironically the cup win came when our form was spiralling down - nearly relegated that season.
His subs are bizarre, his low block doesn’t seem to work (74 goals conceded last season) and there is absolutely no plan B. All after spending nearly half a billion (west ham are prems 5th biggest net spend over last five years)
Honestly, watching low possession, low block football and still getting beat for so long is why West Ham fans like myself wanted him moved on, not because we weren’t grateful for the cup win or longed for some mythical, media-spouted ‘West Ham way’ .
I just don’t see much difference between him and dyche , in the same way I didn’t see much difference between loppy and Moyes .
Good luck though Moyes
Get the criticism but he is better than Dyche at what he does. Dyche has NO idea in attack, at least Moyes can be effective there with counter attacks.

He's obviously not what I wanted or even close, but needs be when the devil vomits on you. If we're gonna be stuck in this seemingly endless cycle of relegation battles then I'd sooner Moyes then Dyche because now we at least have some hope that things can improve. With a little bit of investment Moyes will have us soild, mid-table dross. Yes there's always that glass ceiling with Moyes but when you're close to rock bottom like are right now, the glass ceiling is a long way up.

Less than 2.5 years might not be wise either because the player’s won’t take you seriously

I would think that was becoming a problem for Dyche, it was obvious he wasn’t going to be here next season

Also in the transfer market, it’s not easy for Moyes to bring in players if he himself is on a 6 month contract

I don’t think there are any easy decisions given the circumstances

I always liked him as a person and he makes me waaay more confident than Dyche. Dyche always seems to have a slightly snidey edge to him. Never got that from Moyes. His record speaks for itself and I think under the circumstances it’s a very sensible appointment. Taking a risk right now would be pretty reckless. I was a little disappointed at first looking for the Hollywood appointment but I’ve slept on it now and I’m happy.

Best of luck to him and welcome back. He knows and loves the club which is a big thing and many still at the club have a relationship with him and respect him, this surely will breed some confidence in the others.

Best of luck Davey, I bumped into him once in Gretna petrol station in 2004 and completely bottled saying hello, totally start struck. Nice to have the band back together.
