The issue I have with this is that if we end up going down, Moyes will 100% be forced to leave (rightly so) and it’s many more millions wasted on a pay off. Unless Moyes was the Friedkins number 1 choice all along, I don’t really understand it.

It’s an absolute must that he gets off to a good start with a chunk of the fan base having their doubts about him before he starts.

Make no mistake this guy is NOT a firefighter to be brought in as a short term fix. If he is not allowed to carry on for the long haul he should not be brought in at all

This is the start of a new moyes cycle init.

He'll come in, steady the ship, we'll then get too big for our boots and want 'exciting football' so we'll replace with him Martinez mk2, realise we are getting worse then spend the following 8 or so years fumbling about with other managers before ultimately hiring Moyes son in the year 2035 and repeating the cycle.
I’ll probably squeeze one more cycle in before I crock it.

Sky saying (at least) 2 years to be agreed.

I'm all for it. We need some stable "safe hands". People moaning about "safe hands" I think that's what we need right now.

Although I just saw a post (via LeEquip) saying Paulo Fonseca is our priority but would be in the summer. That's a bit odd hasn't he been sacked recently?
