2024/25 Iliman Ndiaye

He's arguably playing the best football of his career in that position, moaners gonna moan though
I won't argue whether or not he would have an impact in the middle. He might. But if it ain't broke, why fix it? He definitely brings something there and if I'm being honest the minutes I have seen him on the right and centrally were not as impactful as his minutes on the left. Certain players I get it. Not so much with Ndiaye.

I don't feel that way at all. He is one of the best and trickiest dribblers in the league. Put him in the middle where the space is condensed and center backs have more license to rough players up and you lose a bit of that. I see the value of playing him out wide. He is great in isolation. McNeil has been productive in the middle. I think the issue is more that we lack fullbacks and a right winger that can compliment the two of McNeil and Ndiaye.
While not arguing with that, I can’t help but think Ndiaye would he even more joy in the middle.
McNeil is so one footed it’s not too difficult to know what to do with him, Ndiaye is so tricky and can jink either way.
The amount of defending doing on the left too kind of destroys Dyches argument about no 10 having a defensive side.

I really like him but this seems like a classic case of our fans going way OTT once we see a player with an ounce of ability like we did with Bernard. Tricky left wingers with sketchy output are a dime a dozen in the prem
Nah this lad has got much more about him than Bernard. He'll shimmy or slalom his way through a defence then realise he's on his own - as soon as he gets another baller (LB or AM) to interchange with we'll see the best of him.

Yeah most clubs have a couple of them, we’re just latching onto the only half decent wide player we have.
