The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Basically another season of hoping the promoted clubs continue to be useless then.

Even beating all of Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton at Goodison only gets the team to 26 points (and you feel one of those games will be messed up) so still a huge amount of work to do and preferably under a new manager.

Good win for "basketcase" Palace again I see.

One? I have no faith in us winning any as it involves breaking a team down.

We have one single "style" of play. It makes us somewhat difficult to break down away from home. Its almost entirely ineffective at home. It doesn't win many games even when it works out. Its a formula for drawing or nicking a random win. You can't keep playing like that and expecting to win. You're going to get found out. There's a reason that even with Burnley, the only club Dyche ever enjoyed anything approaching success at, it all ended with relegation. This will end the same way if he does go asap.

You'll get a Wolves performance from one of those games. Two of those games are also right at the end of the season and we've seen this squad before morph into a 1980s clone for a couple of critical home games in the run in.

Need to be winning other games on top of those three though and that looks a far bigger ask under this manager.

The next four are the same four that were lost at the start of the season so Dyche is gone if he even loses three of them imo.

the only opportunity is to get rid of dyche
Will achieve nothing in itself. That squad is desperately short in so many areas it's unreal.

Fullback, Centre-Half and central midfielders with even average PL level footballing competence. Mykolenko, Tarkowski, Doucore, Gueye and Harrison should be nowhere near a PL side yet are pretty much guaranteed games for us.

Bin Dyche by all means but if the next manager doesn't get at least 3 first team ready players in January they will struggle horrifically. The cut-to-the-bone recruitment policy has really hit home this year.

Yep. Three wins out of 18. I think the endless draws are giving people a false impression of how things are going.

It should not be acceptable to just attempt to win 6/7 games a season even if it eventually keeps the club up. There has to be a desire to try to do better but it will only come with a change of manager imo and no excuse not to do that now with the takeover.
