This is true but then using 90% of our current squad as a barometer means just about any signing would be good. I don't think Richarlison was amazing when he was here the first time and that was a better team than this one. He wouldn't be a success second time around.
 



Sense now that we had a brief honeymoon with the takeover, the stadium handover, the unexpected draws and perhaps a Christmas feel good factor.

If TFG needed any reminder at all of how grim things are, they got it in spades today.

It's a nice idea to stroll though the rest of the season and march to Bramley Moore in glory, but there are decisions that need taking today, tonight, this week.

Problems aren't going away and the only real lever they can pull in response is to get a new manager in.

Given they made a point in their initial statements about PSR being a short term issue still, I'd be very surprised if they were able to spend meaningful money in January.

They need to get rid of Dyche and Thelwell asap, no point hanging around with either of them. Bringing in a sporting director now who can put in some good plans ready for the summer.
