for me we ended last season really strong and well did hope it would continue. But just looked poor from the start of the season he has not fixed how to make this team play better football. If he does go at the end of the season would go with my thanks if keeps us up and for dealing with the problems here. Was the right choice to get him at the time for here and would wish him luck with his new job

If we had a striker capable of snapping up a half chance like others near the bottom have we'd have a few more wins.

Vardy does that at Leicester still.

Our forwards aren't of that nature and we've need one for years.
It might help if he didn’t keep playing a clearly cba DCL, anyone would be an upgrade on him this season. It might help if he set up his teams to win a game and actually allowed the team to get forward and attack!

XG 0.39 to 0.77

Harrison was a really good chance. Also the cutback to Ndiaye nearly the end is a goal many top teams score. I think it's a bit much to expect from this 11 to create 4-5 gilt edged chances each half against a team of Chelsea's level.

I'm far more annoyed with Dyche's style against the likes of Fulham, West Ham and Brentford. Hardly created any serious chances in those games so those 0-0s are more worthy of criticism and a real limitation of his managerial style.

Those weren't back to the wall performances. Those were classic 'create chances that the players can't score' performances

Eh, hardly anything decent was created v West Ham. One forward run by Doucs in the first 10 minutes and then just played out a 0-0 for rest of the game.

Considering Brentford were down to 10 men for about 50 minutes very little decent was created against them.

I still think they sack him in jan, was gonna say this week but with Christmas it’s unlikely
I’d say they’ll have a plan for what they want to do and it may not be on the agenda to part ways this season unless their hand is forced by results. Of course if they have someone lined up for January and want to pull the trigger on it soon then it may well happen but I’m not getting that vibe just yet.

Grinding out draws against better teams is good as long as you get wins against equal or lesser teams, but we're trying to 0-0 our way to safety. Hopefully TFG have their replacement ready to step in sooner rather than later and we part ways with Dyche on good terms with him having done the job expected of him which is the bare minimum of keeping us in the league.

He's got to start winning some games. I don't expect anything on Boxing day no matter how terrible Man. City are (would fancy it far more if that one was at Goodison). Desperately need to score first to beat Forest. If they get an early one it's going to be another long afternoon with their pace on the break.

Never do anything at Bournemouth and they fully deserve to be top 6 currently. So what would be the expectations from Villa and Spurs at home within three days? Haven't beaten either in ages but Villa actually lost their last four away and Spurs lost to Ipswich this season so those games shouldn't really be written as mini miracles to get a point from.

Under the old regime he probably would've limped on with the odd draw to a decider at home to Leicester in early Feb but would this new board really just let game after winless game pass, I'm not too sure. The only criteria simply can't be not being 18th or worse.

I'd say he needs to be beating one of Villa and Spurs at home personally to have realistic chance of getting through to May.

Yeah, we're in the last knockings now.

These fellas just want to be sure they have a Premier League club to attach rockets to before doing the deed.

Dyche, to his credit, is making it as hard as he can for them - but he's under no illusions. His work here - critical, diligent, competent work - is nearly done.

And not every manager could have done it. Horses for courses. We had the right horse for the right course. But soon the course will change, and we'll need the right horse for that.

See above.
You said our strikers had a couple of chances yesterday.

@Goat asked when they were.

I have already pointed out to you that all the shots we have had from the last 2 games, not one of them has been by our strikers (DCL and Beto).
That's what I'm hearing too.

The official line is: NO CHANCES CREATED.

This is what the managerial-merry-go-round cult are comforting themselves with tonight.
No one at all has said we didn’t have chances. That’s just you saying that. And it seems to be based off not understanding what a ‘striker’ is in football.

After giving in a few weeks ago and saying he should go, I'm back on the fence. Three pretty solid performances and he's got some breathing space now. Biggest issue is playing DCL week in week out and terrible finishing by the squad in general (except Keane). Not sure Beto is the answer but Chermiti and Broja may well be.

Given City's run of form we should be looking for a win there this week. Forest will be tough though, very much our equals last season, not a world class line-up of players but a team that's fighting amongst the top dogs (for now). Suspect it's a one season wonder and they'll be back to usual next year, but in the meantime we need to sort our finishing because they'll give us a game. Two wins for Dyche this week and he'll be there til the Summer plus manager of the month maybe.
