That's why ideally I would have liked Dyche to be able to see out the season (or more pertinently, for the takeover to have been done in time for him to go last summer), so that there was no justification in going for a firefighter manager and we would be able to give someone time to get their feet under the table and work on things for a long term benefit instead of worrying about getting points on the board ASAP. The example of Iraola is a good one, he has been able to improve Bournemouth but it took time - he didn't win any of his first 9 games and took some batterings. There wouldn't be many cool heads in here if we were trying to get Keane, Doucoure, Mykolenko et al to play patient football out from the back and we were on that sort of run let's be honest, people would be hounding him out already. Unfortunately things have got worse under Dyche so we're probably going to have to punt him, but it would be a brave move to make an appointment for the long term in the position we're in, I would expect it to be another firefighter and so the cycle starts again.
