They must surely have found a way to invest in at least 2 starting XI players in January. This is simply to avoid almost certain relegation and their investment tanking within 6 months. Given our first 5 months of the season, there is no time to lose and no further fixtures to pass up on with a substandard squad.

They will have had months working with Thelwell, who has had even longer to find suitable players and sound them out.

Absolutely no excuses to be doing the usual last few days of the transfer window sniffing around the middle aisles of Lidl.
