The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Tony Cascarino a few weeks back in the Times called Everton the most "basic" team in the premier league.

It's painful but he's right isn't he. Just long punts towards corners to turn defenders constantly. Sometimes it works, many other times it dosen't from a style that was last frequently used 15 years ago.

Another pundit described our football as “ being footy from a bygone era “.

Yet not one of them seems willing to openly question Dyche’s tactics or lack of them.

The same board that kept Rodgers whilst he sent them down, have a PS&R charge waiting for them if they go down, hired Dean Smith when Rodgers was eventually fired, then hired their local rivals manager only to fire him 12 games in when not even in the relegation zone?

They’re as scattergun as anyone else in the bottom half
Yes, all true, but it's a functioning board - even if it governs dysfunctionally.

We don't have ANY board. We are a holding position.

How else to explain the continued employment of a manager who has now failed. Utterly.
