Fans - particularly the young ones - have developed this divine right to think we're a HUGE club.

The young ones (including myself, if I can even be considered "young") have never seen us win a trophy, so where this chip on shoulder has came from I don't know?

We've been pathetic really for 5 years, we're about to have another bottom half finish.

I go places like Watford, Brighton, Bournemouth and the fans back the players. Must be so toxic being a player, first mistaken and you're being booed and hounded.

Got everything right to be frustrated, but sometimes I have to double take and check we aren't Prime Barca because fans act as if we should he rolling over sides 3/4-0 every match.

Just pray Friedkin comes in and turns it round quickly because the fans don't have need something to encourage them.

I agree. Crowing over a last minute undeserved draw is unsightly behaviour.

When they attacked fellow fans for trying to stand up against the former board, was the moment I knew I was disassociated from the majority of the fanbase. Happy to facilitate failure. It’s led to this acceptance that we are a team that aims for 17th, they say it’s “until we get into the stadium”, but it’ll soon turn into “we just need to get through the first 2 years in the new stadium as a Premier League club”, then that’ll turn into 3 years, then 5 years etc etc. “it still feels like an away game, Arsenal were crap when they first moved in etc etc” they’ll say. I actually think a lot of our fans enjoy being crap, it’s quite comforting to them.

Because their fathers have bestowed upon them stories of trips to Rotterdam and Wembley, talked of Holy Trinities and Dogs of War, and, in some cases, even recounted tales of Chairman Bill's sacrifice to keep us proudly at the top table of football. With all that, despite the younger fans having no experience of Everton-based success, who wouldn't think we're a special club that deserves glory?

Genuine question

How much would it cost for a dad to take his lad to a match at Goodison these day?

I'm talking tickets, transport, having a bite to eat, a drink, programme etc

Over a ton...easy

That's if you haven't got a seaso.

130 - 150 quid I reckon
So, you watch over £100 disappear out of your bank account, spend all day getting there/watching/getting back home, are served 100 minutes of non-entertainment where the team you love and support are outclassed in almost every element

And you're supposed to be happy about the whole thing?
