Good to know and nicely explained. Didn't realise the rules had changed on that
 
Regarding the RMF debt, Friedkin has all the aces in how he wants to go about paying that debt all off in one go or restructuring it. If he doesn't take over the threat of administration still looms if Moshiri is still in place and Everton get relegated. With that threat all invested parties will dance to Friedkin's tune rather than risk their sum.

In an ideal world I would want us to be owed outside of a multi club model.

But you can also look at it as custodianship as much as ownership.

It does bring advantages also, in an environment where there are global super-clubs.

And anyway, its not like the owners of the Top 6 have absolutely no other business interests.

I have no doubt it can bring us some leverage and also no doubt that it will not dilute our unique identity in any meaningful way.

Thing is Bri, outside of ourselves the unique identity you speak of to everyone else not an evertonians is that if a horribly mismanaged laughing stock of a club clinging to it's past glories which the majority of modern fans weren't even born when we enjoyed them.

Anyone joining after the premier league era knows Evertons only achievement as being an ever present hanger on to its league status.

Frankly the stuff we hang onto about us being unique, etc, go to most clubs in the league and certainly their hardcore fans will all think this of themselves also.

I distinctly remember pre ground moves both west ham and spurs fans saying they didn't want to lose the unique status they had

All true.

The difference, though, is that West Ham and Spurs were good cup sides. We were a great league and cup side. That's the challenge for the Friedkins: return us to the conversation of great clubs without causing anybody under 45 to snigger.

Kinda doesn't work unless you have a college system where pretty much all players have to go through, and also you kinda need to be the only country that actually plays it at that monetary level.

Draft system in England everyone goes to play abroad. Draft system in Europe, watch how fast a league outside grows

Short term at least the Roma will be the senior club - it simply is more advanced and stronger in every way than we are (with less difficult roadblocks ahead for progression).

Long term wise ultimately it should benefit both sides, open access to each others teams resources and scouting departments, shared knowledge etc, the ability to shift certain players around depending on the needs of both sides.


Wouldn't shock me to find out in the future the agreement to pay off the RMF loan went along the line of - take the settlement offer or once we take over we will ask an independent commission to look into the nature of this loan to see if it breached any rules (or at least the negative PR to both RMF and the image of Kenwright and his mates would have been substantial once the interconnecting web was shown) RMF tol essentially your bleeding of the club is over - settle on how many hundreds of millions you've already essentially stolen from the club and don't push it any further.

Same with ACAP - told to take the offer or after buying the club we'll wait for the court case resolution and we know we'll be paying pennies in the pound afterwards.

Think TFG are serious businessman and acted as such mate.

Can see maybe dcl staying now will be on the list like the manager and dof TFG will have to decide on. But honestly have no idea what they will have planned between clubs is going to be a big turnover in players next season for us.

Basically, we don't want the German model of fan ownership (I mean, some of us do, but the country as a whole won't tolerate it), and we can't have things both ways.

100% agree has been the reason several players have come to this country have went to smaller clubs in england for money. But not just that is also meant to be a nightmare getting the new stadium done in italy with several teams finding it hard .
