A matter of Dread.

The Olympic opening ceremony left a lot to be desired. Let us be under no illusions, (and pardon the MJ pun) but it was properly off the wall.
So I find myself unable to stick or twist, the closing ceremony is closing in and like a moth to a flame I find myself drawn to the rampant mania I expect to be served up as the Olympic flame is once again passed back to the Americans (with brotherhood and fraternity for democracy and all that caper I'm sure), so with trepidation I go forth knowing tomorrow there is no Olympics, and thus the steady steam of the Titanic across the Atlantic, towards the inevitable end that is the beginning of the premier league season is now.

A summer* of sport is behind us, and I very dearly feel short changed, both in terms of the alleged season and the sporting entertainment.
