Paris Olympics 2024

Best Paris Olympics memories off the top of my head:

The galloping 'horse' down the Seine
Kerr v Ingebrigtsen
The boulder climbing and wall climbing
The mad as a box of frogs BMX races
The BBC team crestfallen with the Kopite picking up silver
Biles falling off the beam and blaming the photographers for...erm...taking photos.
Marchand in the swimming and the tremendous atmosphere in the pool stands
Arshad Nadeem killing the javelin in round 1 and thinking of the Tommy Robinson lot cursing him for it
Big Khalef in the boxing shutting the cis bigots up

I said performance
KJT had a mixed performance: PBs in some events and sub-par performances in favoured events like the 200M and Long Jump. That said her overall points score wasn't that far off her NR.

But performance is also measured in handling pressure in an olympic final. Hodgkinson handled it better than KJT.

I presume the teams will be getting into the boats and heading back the way they came at close of Games? Or is a stadium finale planned?

Lacrosse I believe is the most dangerous sport in the world. Those balls move at ridiculously high speeds.
I wouldn’t say that. The helmets take care of anything that would do damage to someone’s head and while it doesn’t feel good to take a body blow it really just leaves a bad bruise.

@Harryflashman going back to that question about being in the Olympics. I reckon I'd have been good at baseball if I'd grown up in the USA, based on the fact I was boss at rounders at school when I was a kid. Could've been an olympic baseball player IMO

Did they just say "no boxing in LA"

Shambles.
wada are at war with some other anti dope unit.
and two major boxing commissions are at war also.
the politics of who has the say is getting to the point where sports, legacy sport in this case is being excluded.

but the 'no boxing in LA' does take care of two minor problems that've rumbled on through this games eh?!

GB might not have had the best boxing Olympica but I’m immensely proud of our history and our place amongst successful nations . I’d be devastated if it wasn’t there , can’t see it not being , like its just a power struggle
