Id see it as a realistic scenario, tbh.

I'd imagine there are a number of suitors for a club with that stadium coming on stream and our PL status secured, and looking secure under a stable football regime for the next few seasons at least.

Judging by how they've struggled to get the deal over the line, I'm assuming they were hoping we were gonna get a 600pt deduction, end up in League 2 and purchase us with Alan Pardews Mars Bar he still owes us.

Indeed, I wonder if they were hoping we went down, now we are safe with a few games left and could get a few more points it will obviously cost them more money and they are already struggling to meet the PL requirements.
