ITV News on the Firestick

Right , I have a conundrum. I live in Cumbria and my Amazon account and Firestick is connected to the same area.
BBC news is the correct region , but the ITV news is London. It isn't a biggie for me but the missus is giving me ear ache. I could trade her in but if a fix for this issue on the Firestick can be corrected it would be a lot cheaper.
Have any of the techie's out there any ideas? My ears need a rest.
 

I have the same issue, but haven't really been too arsed to change it. Have you tried changing your location on your vpn? Or, i know my stick has a UK regional channel list. If you have one, then you should be able to get your regional news etc

I will be happy to assist you with that. Please try the following troubleshooting steps:



  1. On your Fire TV, go to your "Home Screen" and click "Settings"
  2. Click "Settings" on your Home Screen. This will open up a list of settings of your Fire TV.
  3. Then click on "Preferences".
  4. In the "Settings" , click on ‘Preferences’. This will guide you to a list where you will find the option to change the location of your Fire TV.
  5. In "Preferences", click on "Locations" , to change your location.

Unfortunately we're not able to make all of the regional news programmes available for catch up.
Also, when watching the stream live on ITVX, you'll automatically be shown the news for London, as we're not currently able to detect where you're streaming from in the UK. However this is something we're looking into improving.
Alternatively, visit the ITV News regional news pages where you'll be able to watch your region's full 30 minute programme. They're generally available for 24 hours after the first transmission. Go to itv.com/news and click on 'Your Area'.

Everything is the same region , can't find a UK regional channel list?

Fire sticks are cheap rubbish have a look on e bay & buy a better set up ..... plus Surf Shark is the best cheapest VPN- periodically reset your VPN zone - keep away from the UK - Surf Shark has a circle with a line on reception ours works well even as far as Belgium - the FBI are closing down servers at the rate of knots - you need a good source of IPTV via word of mouth 70- £100 per year then you buy your VPN plus gear - we can watch in 4k sometimes - HD mostly ....
