David weir returns as an Everton coach

Jobs for the boys. I really despise this kind of thing. Everton providing a pension top-up to some ex-player. WTF coaching experience has this feller got that he comes straight in?

He did Moyes a big favour a few years back by helping him get on top of the dressing room when it looked like he was losing it and this is his big drink to say thanks.

We need to get all Moyesies mates back to make him feel in command and comfortable and important again.

FFS Moyes, when did it all start going stale and corrupt? You'd never have pulled these stunts a few years back.

Stick a fork in Moyes, he's just about done for me.

He's just got an ex player back as a low level coach ffs, he hasn't appointed Sammy Lee as assistant manager.

How do you know what capacity he's back in?

And what qualifications has he got to become a coach - badges etc etc?

There's players about who have to go out and do that to prove themselves and their worth. I'd have thought Moyes who went through the process would appreciate that. Weir has been at Sheffield United doing some coaching stuff there under Danny Wilson. He should have stayed there and learned the ropes.

I'm sorry, whatever way you cut it this is jobs for the boys. Moyes handing a few more quid out to a man who's very rich in any case. There's no justice in that. How the **** can anyone defend it?

Well I mean he's not reserve coach or assistant manager.

I can't argue with that to be fair, you're right.

What the ****? are you a totaly idiot or something?, great everton captain deserves a chance to come and coach at the club, ah **** it no point in even trying to argue with someone like you.

I'd like to see Moyes start grooming his successor.

If we know Moyes is leaving at some point in the future - hopefully not for a few years though - get someone like Big Dunc into his inner circle and start instilling in him his philosophies/knowledge etc.

If Moyes left and someone beloved like Dunc took over - and he was qualified to do the job - I think fans would be more accepting of Moyes going.

You're setting the bar low there aren't you? He was NOT a great Everton captain. Never mind all that anyway, where's his qualifications to do the job.

Just one in a long line of stuff that's really turned me against Moyes: Slagging off supporters groups, backing to the hilt a deadbeat chairman, favouring now useless players like Cahill and Neville because they prop him up in the dressing room, doing deals for players that involves working with his agent brother, employing his mates as coaches.

What happened to the ambitious young manager who arrived in 2002 determined to carry out root and branch change sweeping away the corrupt years of Walter Smith ? He looks to me like Smith MkII with each passing day. He cant fcuk off quick enough now for me.

Years ago when we were away to Plymouth in the FA Cup I watched the team go through their drills about 30-40 mins before kick-off. There was one man in charge of the whole ritual. Weir dictated every step of the training. All the players deferred to him. He was deadly serious about the responsibility he was given. No smiles from David.

I said to a friend: "Weir will manage us one day". I didn't say this in any sort of 'hope' or 'wish'. It's just a VERY strong vibe that I got based on what I witnessed.
