It seems to me that some people are more susceptible to it than others. You get people who have never had it, whether or not they've had the jab. Others seem to get it with depressing regularity, even those who've had the jab and every booster going. A strange thing.

Id agree with that. Me , Mrs J and my mum 96 are the only people I know who haven't had it.

And me and Mrs J were on the first available plane to go on holiday, down the pub when they reopened and I played table tennis and soon as we were able.

Yep strange.

I have two good friends who suffered severe depression down to covid. One required family and medical intervention, which I prompted after finding he'd become very withdrawn, the other required hospitalisation after taking a bread knife to his neck.... fortunately found in time by his wife.

Awful. We were lucky having a big garden & workshop to occupy us, snd the countryside literally the other side of the garden fence. Felt so much for those living in towns or blocks of flats, must've been dreadful.

It's a weird feeling. Although everything has opened up now I kind of sometimes get this depressing feeling thinking about how 2-3 years were essentially just lost. But I was lucky none of my loved ones were too badly affected by it.

Just glad I didn't lose anyone close to me (or myself really, asthma and all, technically a riskier patient).

Kind of glad for the opportunities it presented too though, if we have to be positive about it - companies allowed/started using flexible workspace/work from home/etc. and many academies around here started doing their courses online, which finally pushed me into doing the stuff I actually like.

I suppose it depends where you were; in the uk, I was essentially ‘lecturing’ remotely, which meant we all went through a pantomime of me ‘giving them something to do on line’ and all of us just going down YouTube rabbit holes for months on end.
