6 + 2 Point Deductions

Without opening a can of worms here, what are we like for the following 3yr period ie the ones we will have to submit details for by end of this calendar year? Or will the change of rules in the summer work for us also if the 10 points are suspended?

Or do we think we will have to make another high sale again ie Onana or Branthwaite to balance the books for this season?

Until the ownership situation is sorted I'd say this is a certainty.

If (massive if) we have new owners by the summer and they have brought with them a fresh sponsorship stream, we may not have to sell to balance the books, but we'd most likely still be in a position where we need to offload to be able to reinvest in the squad.

What’s not factored into any of this is the change in sentiment and confidence levels across a number of months now whilst this has been waiting to be resolved.

It’s no doubt in my mind that Luton and all the teams at the bottom of the table got a new lease of life once our points got deducted. It went from them being almost certain to get relegated to having a chance of staying up.

We’ve also had to alter how we play, if we were safe in mid table we might have risked more in games we were level, we might have given more youth players a chance, the crowd wouldn’t be as on edge.

Its changed the dynamics of an entire part of the season and every game this drags on for longer it’s being effected.

This has been a complete and utter mess from the PL and they’ve brought the entire league into disrepute in my opinion.

Where are people getting the end of the week from? If it hasn’t been announced by Thursday people will start saying they can’t announce anything before we play on Saturday because it’ll affect the game.
It's come from a tweet by Alan Myers, he said Thursday, Friday or end of month, but this was just a prediction on his behalf nothing confirmed.

Completely new rules next season though (which is the real joke of this process) - more aligned with UEFA's thresholds etc, which apparently we wouldn't have breached under.
This is why it’s a mess. We are more than half way through the accounting period that ends in June 24. As it stands that’s still in PSR and clubs will submit accounts at the end of the year and hear 14th Jan 25 whether they have been referred.

Makes no sense as there would need to be a transition where there are basically no rules at all when moving to the new methodology. The dead transfer window was blamed entirely on PSR and the shockwaves our punishment sent out, so clearly all clubs, even the oil rich, are still assuming 23/24 accounts still need to comply with PSR.

Long story short, Onana or JB will need to go before July, Richy style (I.e. perfect to get ripped off again). And only the very next day will the rules change. Madness

This is spot on. Last night was relegation, must not lose football. An Everton comfortably mid table and looking at the European spots above wouldn't have played like that.

If no one was buying in January I don't see anyone buying in June
