(I had no idea there was a remake in 2011, conflicted.)
Yeah, just had a little read, called it a prequel rehash. Took a pounding. Should have known better. Some idiots would try to remake Casablanca or Gone with the wind if there was a couple of cents on the end of it for em. Dangerous people destroying artistic works.Thought that was a prequel Rita..

Not sure I understand the business model.Yeah I read the Dark Horse adaptation of Gibson's original script a few years back. It sidelines Ripley (not by killing her off but having her return in a planned 4th film) and focuses on Hicks/Bishop. It hinted at a broader storyline and could have been epic.
I have never been more dissappointed in a sequel than the third film we were actually given - it was tired, dull, had no likeable characters and by negating the second film and wiping out every character who survived it - an insult.

Jackson sadly destroyed any good will from me when he was paraded in that RS propaganda abomination "51st State". A cringeworthy effort that features the worst attempt in living memory of a Scouse accent from Robert Carlye.Just rewatched Patriot Games for the first time in years. Great movie and hasn’t aged at all, completely forgot Samuel L Jackson was in it.
Might give The Hunt for Red October another go later.
I think you're being a bit harsh on Wilford Brimley there mate. Sure he wasn't in great shape but still....The monstrosities in 'The Thing', look like the drawings of people ai/chatgpt draw. 42 years old.
