They left themselves too much to do in a short space of time. Older episodes were slow, you got a sense of a vast landscape and distance then all of a sudden people are running backwards and forwards up the country. The writers basically stopped trying.

They’d have been better off leaving loads of stories unanswered.

It was just too rushed. The final battle could probably have filled a season itself but it felt like we had been building for ages to this ending that was over in the blink of an eye. great show though that aside IMO.

Yup, its was all a timing thing. And I said I agree, rushed. All 8 seasons should have had 10 episodes, the last three were ALL cut short. Episode 7 could have ended/finished off the White Walker storyline, leaving a full 10 episode 8 season for the rest of the characters.

Also - there is a MASSIVE difference in writing a book, and a TV show. Once the show had surpasses the bookes - there was NO source material. GRR Martin was involved....all character arc's conclusions he agreed to/had in mind...its his story....but the show writers were left with no material to fill in the gapes - something that can be achieved in 100's of pages of a books.

Bottom line - finish the damn book series Martin, you idiot.

Completely agree with this. The end game was rushed but it was always the end game. She’d shown signs of being a genocidal maniac from series 2.

I loved 24, even though it was completely ridiculous. Should have wrapped up after season 4 or at least got some proper writers in instead of outsourcing to local schools.

One thing I will say is, if they end up cancelling Kingdom, I am ditching Netflix for good. Just found out they stealth cancelled Black Summer so I am on the edge.
