With regards to us arguing our case over losing sponsorship due to the war in Ukraine. The commission said we should have “anticipated” this conflict and factored it into a business decisions.

Well reading about it, it appears Intelligence agency in Europe, didn’t expect Russia to invade Ukraine and even NATO were surprised that they did.

But a football club on Merseyside, 2000 miles away in one of the most deprived parts of the country should have. I hope this is being used as a point of argument.

They said it’s something all businesses have to contend with. The point is we have contended with it, like people have to contend with financial hardship when they lose their job or their mortgage goes up. People cut their cloth accordingly and obviously cut back on luxuries which is fine. But you can’t expect people to have the same amount of cash lying around at the end of the month as they otherwise would. Same with Everton, we’ve stopped buying players but have still been paying our bills and meeting our obligations. Our financial results aren’t gonna be as good obviously when you’ve lost player x and lost significant sponsorship. But so what if we can keep operating, keep paying wages, keep building the stadium.

I wont be happy with anything less than all 10 points back. A financial infringement does not warrant an on field punishment, period. Any points is a miscarriage of justice and paves the way for more point deductions on the second charge which will definitely happen with these corrupt beauts.
