Last Film You Watched

I suppose it's difficult comparing eras, silent, to talkies to colour. Maybe a 20 or 25 year hop skip n jump?
I think it says something about the language of cinema becoming established. Films from the 70s still feel somehow contemporary, films from the 20s often feel like they're from an entirely different dimension.

Yeah the 70`s is considered a golden age for cinema which is why I think a lot of them have stood the test of time and feel contemporary.

Yes, i think you're right, 70s marked that full switch between movies predominantly still being a bit stagey and melodramatic into a pervading realism in acting, dialogue, direction, effects - even in fantasy and sci fi. Star Wars, Close Encounters and Alien are a massive shift from the sci fi of the 50s and 60s.

mission impossible 2 is just ending and I'm reminded of how embarrassingly bad this 2 hour snooze fest is. So I had a little search for some reviews, and I got more entertained and had laughs in 5 minutes than during watching this complete rotter.
Interesting fact and reason to be grateful for this turd. The prolonged shoot running over schedule meant Dougray Scott had to pass up on his next project in 1999.
He was supposed to be Wolverine in X Men.
