Not sure why they decided to play 3 frontline spinners when Root is as good, if not better, than some of those bowlers. Drop either Hartley or Ahmed and play another quick. 2 quicks, 2 spinners, and Root as third spinner is a far more balanced bowling attack.

You'd have to wonder if it would affect his batting if he's churning out 20-30 overs an innings with the ball over a 5 test series. Guess though its not like he's charging in bowling pace

Agree, we are clearly missing an all rounder so I guess root will have to play that role

I genuinely think a commentary team of Aldridge, Carragher & Beglin for the Derby would be less biased than this lot.
