It gets worse…the PL were in secret discussions with the aggrieved clubs back in March and it was agreed that if an independent commission found Everton guilty of PSR breaches they could sue but that info was embargoed until the Commission made their decision.
David Phillips KC was involved in the March meetings and also on the Commission…so much for independence.

Don’t think it was a secret discussion with the PL but the commission made a finding that the affected clubs could claim compensation if Everton were guilty. This was in May and kept secret until the report from the commission was released last week

Whatever happens that 10 point deduction as well as allowing other teams affected is massively too much for what is really a paltry 19.5m breach over three years and even that figure was disputed.I
That is the whole point of this I feel. Our owner and the people that run/ ran our club have massively let us down and we as a club are bearing the brunt of their collective failure.

But the Altheltic claimed whilst it was the first ruling and mechanism, there was no intention to have the clubs ratify it for future cases. Its was to be that mechanics first use and only use. Spin it however, still stinks.

That’s not correct.
The independent commission has wide ranging discretion from a slap on the wrist to expulsion depending on the offence.
The PL does not have a rule for PSR breaches which has been signed off by at least 14 clubs.
They thought of one after the charge which ended up guiding the IC even though they claimed they reached their own conclusion independently.

Not for nothing but that is an idiotic take. If there are rules there are consequences. You don't say "don't do this or else" without having the "or else" already laid out.

This was a one off decision that they did specifically for Everton.

That isn't true it is a different panel.

To sit on the appeals panel experts need an extra 5 years of experience.

Two panels … the original responsible for the 10 points will also consider any compo claim against us
A second panel will consider the appeal

We’re goosed either way as the PL will have their sticky fingers all over both

I would not worry about the clubs that want compo. The pl have factored that in. He is rich so good for a few Bob.

The fact no one has seen or heard from him for a few weeks now may hamper those clubs getting some £££.
