No he does mate, his positioning at times is nothing short of comical, it's an easy fix which is why I don't understand why Dyche and his staff are not doing anything about it. It can only be because they don't rate the player.

Probably working with him behind the scenes. Said it in the summer but a season on loan in the championship would have been the best move for all parties.

That’s because Dyche has been telling his fullbacks to stay narrow. That’s not Patterson’s decision, that’s Dyche
I never said it wasn't, and tbh I agree, I don't subscribe to these theories that we are 'solid at the back' much of it is quite last ditch stuff at times

The irony of being called insulting by someone who seems to spend pretty much every day of their lives being nothing but insulting to one of our players on here whilst they come to the defence of the most intentionally insulting person on the forum...

As for taking a day off... You've barely taken a day off this thread in about two months

How about you take a day off, or perhaps a month or a year and give us all some peace
Imagine trying to tell someone to have a day off after he was the first one to post in here yesterday after Patterson hadn’t even been selected to have a dig and kick off again. It’s comical.

Pay him the wages owed & clear Ashley Young off - & give Patterson a run -

I watched him stood in no man's land as Harrison was doing his job then ban off him into our net - Pickford had no chance - thats more points the Derby & yesterdays game -= dropped points - 4 points in total ..... cheap at 2 & 1/2 million to get rid of him IMO -

I think if Patterson had it in him to realise the potential people on here see in him then Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole would have developed him. He's spent his career as second or third choice for a reason - he's simply not good enough.
(Moved my reply to Patterson thread as it’s off topic in Young thread).

Couple of reasons why he has spent his career as 2nd/3rd choice. At both his clubs, he has been behind established club captains in his position. And he is also only just 22. Coleman wasn’t our first choice RB until 24.

Lampard also did give Patterson a run of games at the start of last season and he performed fairly well and consistently, including keeping Coleman out the team when he had recovered from injury. (We had like the 3rd or 4th best defence in the league during that time) Patterson then got injured and Coleman came back in and performed well so rightly wasn’t dropped.

Like I’ve said in other thread, an actual run of games and we would likely see improvement, but coming in and out the team won’t help. And after helping the team to a win and a clean sheet and being immediately dropped again for a player who is also not setting the world alight won’t then help his confidence or his performance levels.

If he was any good he would be first choice.

He's had runs of games but can't perform consistently well enough to stop successive managers dropping him and playing old aged teammates who should be on the fringes of the squad.
