Transfer Rumour Che Adams

This signing will continue to entrench us as a lower half team.

Will continue to force us to sign a new striker every other season.

Will continue to waste money on zero resale value.

Will continue to face goal scoring problems.

Ffs we spent 12m on a Portuguese striker and now we need a replacement for him within 2 weeks?

This would have merit if we finished about 14th last season, we are in immediate relegation danger
Exactly. 11th is lower half. If we finish there we would get ~£12 extra prize money. Convenient.
The fact is, he likes his strikers to not score.
Not sure you know what a fact is.

Gentlemen, make your predictions and stand either side of the line I am now drawing in the sand.

Will Ché Adams *POP or FLOP* at Everton.

Count me down as a POP

Mann-whitney is used for singular dependent variables, you would need to do far more testing
It's for assessing similarity or difference between two groups of non-parametric data, such as scoring data for two players with the goals contributions per game being the singular dependent variable.

Have we enquired about Broja at Chelsea? Is he surplus?

Victor Boniface has just moved, he would have been good.

Beto, I`d go all in even if missing out on Gnonto
Hugo Ekitike
Brian Brobbey
Josh Zirkzee
Serhou Guirassy
Fode Fofana
M`Bala Nzola
Alexander Sorloth
So Boja and Boniface are your top two...

What would each cost (approximates)?

Can we afford them?

Can we afford their wage demands?

If we loan them, would their club allow them to move on loan?

Would they want to join EFC?

Would they be happy being on the bench when DCL is fit?

Thanks

12 million for a player without resell value ain't cheap in any market.

Much better value out there, but convincing players to sign for Everton now will always be a challenge.
After reading your post I had to recheck the date of birth of Che Adams, it seems he is 27 since April, why would you say he has no resale value ?

Depends how you quantify it?

Do I think he’ll fulfil the expectation we can reasonably expect of him and him score 7-10 goals a season for us if he gets the opportunity?
Yes.

Will that make him a “pop” along evertonians? Probably not, because most of our fans think we should be signing 20+ goal a season strikers for £5m from europe.

You’re running with a lot of assumptions in this, it probably won’t be a 5 year deal, I’d imagine 3+1, it won’t be £80k-£100k a week as he’s just been relegated on £50k, assume he probably had a relegation wage drop clause too so he’ll probably be only getting around £50k from us again.

You’re assuming Adams will not work out and you’re already writing off Chermiti before he’s made an appearance and acting like we’ll be keeping Maupay when there’s already been links since January of him potentially leaving, he’s probably only still here as he was the only senior forward available at the club.

I really don’t like us being in the position of signing players of the ability of Adams because it shows how far we’ve fallen but you’ve just plucked things out of your imagination here and you’ve slated 2 players that haven’t even kicked a ball for us yet in Chermiti and Adams.

I’m trying to be somewhat positive about the club, I don’t see why we as fans are so quick to go to the worst case scenario immediately and worse treat it as fact before it’s even materialised.
You're also running a lot of assumptions in your reply.

Just my opinion but this is a flawed list of players as an alternative. Fair enough if you actually know these players and what they’d offer to us but just from a brief look, all of the young ones have records that are basically comparable or worse than Chermiti and all of the experienced ones have comparable or worse records than Adams.

The issue where the flaw comes in is most of these would probably cost us more than Chermiti and Adams combined. Of that list Brobbey and Ekitike are probably the only impressive ones and both would be wildly expensive for our budget and totally unproven to lead the line for Everton. For what they’d cost, £30m+, they wouldn’t be able to offer what we need on the pitch straight away.
