If Gnonto is next in, after Danjuma, we have 4 guys who prefer playing on the left.
McNeil, Iwobi, Danjuma, Gnonto.

Iwobi can play deeper of course, but we have numbers in midfield as well.

Hopefully one of the new lads can play lone striker to help cover DCL
Danjuma can and probably what he’s being brought in for.

Has the Iheanacho chat come from anywhere other than Football Insider?

I'd be surprised if we signed him if we do get Danjuma - with Danjuma able to play striker I don't think we'll sign more than one more as that will give us 3 options and it sounds like there are still younger / more ambitious targets like Toure etc, who are still not off the table. Maybe Iheanacho would be a fall back if we miss those targets, or maybe we'd sign him in addition if we wanted two CFs in, but Danjuma means that's not really the case.

All four of those could also play just off a striker instead of Doucoure if Dyche moves towards his more usual 442. The four of them could basically play any of three positions in that set-up, with Danjuma able to play 9 as well. It's a good range of options.

Iheanacho is a pretty good player I think. Could be good for 10 a season in this league, and we need that to be honest.

Not sure where the rumours have come from or if it's likely, but I think he's definitely an option we should consider, depending on price of course.

Sure I like Iheanacho and him / DCL / Danjuma would be a decent list of options for number 9.

But if we retain interest in younger players like Brobbey or Toure I'd expect us to keep trying for them first as they are younger with higher upside. Iheanacho would be a decent fall back if we don't land one of our top young targets, but if we do then also buying Iheanacho would probably be overkill.

Rumour was started by that Wayne fella from Football Insider, I could be wrong, but in all my years of being on this Earth, he has never called a single thing, EVER.

We need 6 decent players for the 3 (or 4 depending on formation) attacking positions on the field. Currently we are extremely short there and I think if Gray leaves, we need 2 strikers and probably 2 wingers/wide players as well.

2 strikers is the most important part of this window, by an absolute mile for me. Until we get them, I'm not interested in other business.

Don't know but if Iheanacho comes in then that effectively tells us that Toure and Dia and the like are out of the question. Also would mean, I guess, that Danjuma is being brought in to play wide and Iheanacho would be our centre forward unless DCL is available

Interestingly it is being reported as a straight loan - no obligation or option 🤔

Sometimes I wonder why the obligation thing even exists, and there's always an option even when it isn't stated. See Pienaar, Deulofeu, Gomes etc...

That said, why Villareal are happy to just loan him out for eternity is odd when they signed him for like 20+ mil. i thought we were the only chumps in world football who did that.
