Grand Old Team song

Right allow me to explain why this thread is nonsensical and then we can all attempt to forget about it and get on with our lives.

It is a traditional song, passed down and refers specifically in the lyrics to knowing our
history and therefore by extension respecting it. The irony of changing to modern lyrics and defecating on the song's history would be a catastrophe of kopite proportions.

I'Il be honest lads. I think you're gonna be up against it.

You've just asked the marines to do "Hoo-ray!" instead of "Hoo-Rahhhhh **** yeah!".

We nicked it from the Celts, why would we arselick the reds by coming up with a new line? "The red sh*te" is less offensive than calling them animals too, in my opinion.

In the recorded version they play at the match, the lyrics are "We don't care what the red side say..".

Don't know if that matters.

We're part of eachothers history. It'd be even more weird if we just totally ignored them like Chelsea and Fulham do with eachother.

Jesus quite a few arsey replys on here lads, it's only a idea for away games, don't worry you can all go back to bitchin about the team now.
I understand it's about history and it's fine against Liverpool but when we're away it would sound better to sing 'We don't care what you ****e say'
I wasn't meaning to change the recorded version.

Oh and love the black and gay version, that would be funny against Liverpool
